What do I have to do to move accountant?
Once you’ve found your new accountant, all you have to do is give them your old accountant’s contact details and they’ll do the rest. You don’t even have to speak to your old accountant if you don’t want to!
How long does it take to switch accountant?
9 times out of 10 everything goes smoothly and all the details needed are exchanged within a few days. However, if your old accountant doesn’t take the news of you leaving very well, they can on the odd occasion be difficult and delay sending the necessary details to your new accountant. In general this is sorted out by your new accountant and you won’t need be involved in it.
Does it cost anything to move accountant?
We’ve never known of anyone charging for a changeover. The only thing you may have to do is settle any outstanding fees with your old accountant before they’ll send the paperwork to your new accountant..
